Keep It Moving will provide financial support for children and young adults to participate in activities that support health and build inner strength. We believe that supporting engagement in physical activities such as, but not limited to, snowboarding, skate boarding, hiking, and biking enhances the resilience needed to avoid common pitfalls of our modern culture such as drugs, gangs and crime. We also believe that Narcan, the drug that reverses Opioid Overdose, should be in every purse, backpack and first aid kit. K-I-M provides On the Spot Narcan trainings in the community.
Keep It Moving's first major project is bringing Wild Earth, an evidence-based program that works with youth teaching self-reliance, self-respect and connection with nature to the Newburgh area. Our fundraising efforts have brought us about halfway and we are planning Go Skate for Zane to reach our goal. Wild Earth is connected to Keep It Moving because Zane found peace, connection and mentoring there. We want to offer that same experience to young people in Newburgh who would not have access to it.
